The Greater Salina Community Foundation (GSCF), founded in 1999 by community leaders, is an example of a civic endeavor initiated for the good of the community. Over 100 donors established a strong administrative endowment to fund operations. Now, 15 years later, GSCF has become the largest community foundation in Kansas, with 12 affiliate community foundations and over $155 million in assets. GSCF ranks first in the nation on investment returns for foundations with endowment assets between $100 and $249 million.
Company History
The Greater Salina Community Foundation was established in 1999, and has grown to become the largest community foundation in Kansas. It's first affiliate foundation was established in 2000, and the foundation currently has 12 affiliates. In 2013, the Foundation purchased the 8th floor of the United Building, where its offices are presently located. In its 16th year of operation, the GSCF has awarded just under $100 million in grants since its establishment. The Foundation is currently seeking its second Executive Director.
