Company Profile
Pikes Peak Community Foundation
Company Overview
The Pikes Peak Community Foundation (PPCF) is the successor organization of the Colorado Springs Community Trust. The Trust, chartered as a private foundation, was founded in 1928 as a way to build a permanent charitable endowment to improve the quality of life in the Pikes Peak region. Eventually, the Trust’s board realized that in order to make a lasting positive impact on our community, a true community foundation would need to take the lead.
PPCF, governed by a 15-member Board of Directors, was created in 1996 and, tasked with that purpose, has grown into a comprehensive charitable foundation serving the Pikes Peak region and adjacent communities in central and southern Colorado. The original Trust has been successfully and completely merged into the Foundation.
Staff members thoughtfully use every opportunity to apply the Foundation’s vision statement to their actions, that:
PPCF will boldly commit to dramatically improve the quality of life in the Pikes Peak region. Through education and our actions, we will improve the understanding of, appreciation for, and the practice of philanthropy.
The Foundation offers a robust array of philanthropic services such as donor advised funds, designated funds, endowments, charitable trusts, memorial funds, scholarships, estate planning, and more to support donors and nonprofit organizations.
We believe that in order to effectively impact one’s community, one must take a broad-scale, innovative approach to philanthropy in multiple ways. As a result, we also seek to support great ideas that will enhance the quality of life for citizens in our area with grants and community services including grant making, ingenuity grants, fiscal sponsor funds, field of interest funds and others.
PPCF has preserved in perpetuity Venetucci Farm and Aspen Valley Ranch, both widely recognized as priceless community assets. Other innovative Foundation projects such as Pinello Ranch and Pikes Peak Urban Gardens work to further our efforts to advance health, wellness, and cultural activities in the Pikes Peak region.
Taking seriously our dedication to education, we diligently infuse opportunities for learning into everything we do, from a high level symposium on philanthropy to community friendly farm-to-table dining experiences.
At this time, PPCF has approximately $60 million in net assets and, since its inception, has invested more than $90 million in community projects and grants to nonprofit organizations.
